About
Nathan (Nate) Briggs was born in Golden BC where he grew up rurally in a hard working family consisting of his parents and one older brother. A skiing family from a young age Nate spent countless winter days at Whitetooth, the small community ski-area managed by his father, which has since grown to be Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Whitetooth is the place of many fond memories from Nate’s childhood, and a valuable piece of local history, hence being the namesake of his company.
After skiing and mountain biking locally all through his youth Nate attended college in Calgary where he received a diploma in Civil Engineering Technologies, specializing in construction management. After graduation Nate obtained a job at an engineering firm in Calgary, the work experience was valuable but this time served best to confirm that city life was not for him. Nate returned to Golden in time to help install the ski-lifts at the then developing Kicking Horse Resort. Upon completion of this project Nate sought other gainful local employment which brought him into the timber framing industry. After many years in this industry Nate looked to expand his skill set and face new challenges with other exciting projects, like highway & bridge construction. This led to five years of shift work away from home on a variety of projects from bridge and road construction, to installing wind turbine generators. In the spring of 2017 Nate’s son Logan (younger brother to his daughter Zoey) was born and the time was right to stop travelling for work. He has since been happily working locally in Golden, again in the timber frame and construction design industry.
Consistently over the years of timber frame design work Nate has seen the potential benefit of a greater level of design service.
Nate is often overheard saying “it’d be better I spent a couple hours at my desk scratching my head than 5 guys on site scratching theirs.” With this belief in mind Nate started Whitetooth Project Solutions with the intent of working towards more seamless residential construction projects.
When not at work Nate is still very actively mountain biking and mountain bike racing, skiing, and enjoying time with his beautiful young family.
Why Work With Me?
Thorough Planning
I approach construction projects with the mindset that thorough and focused pre planning offers the best chance at a successful project. I have the knowledge and experience to suggest that with proper planning both schedules and budgets can be adhered to.
Details Matter
I believe that no detail is too small to not be considered in the planning stage. I also know that effectively communicating these details to the field is paramount in your satisfaction with the completed project. Providing your job site with concise drawing details and clear communication to properly convey the unique characteristics of your project is a strength of both my design program and my style of workmanship.
3D Modelling Software
Whitetooth Project Solutions utilizes Cadwork 3d design software to plan in real scale your construction project. This detailed approach to construction planning has proven to mitigate some common issues on the construction site. For example; inaccurate interpretation of dimension lines, framing conflicts, insufficient framing details, window conflicts, flaws in stair design, pre-fabricated products not fitting, inaccurate material take offs, and mechanical system conflicts.
